The chart guarantee is a promise about effort and method: if a child’s main skill is not growing by the end of week 4, we change the plan by our written decision rules and add sessions at no charge. It is not a promise about grades, test scores or any other result.
Shared definitions
- Main charted skill: the one-minute timing that matches the student’s current lessons (for example letter sounds, words read correctly or math facts), named in the first weekly report or Friday note.
- Showing growth: the median of the student’s last 3 charted days in week 4 is higher than the median of the student’s first 3 charted days on that skill, or the student met the aim on that skill and moved to a harder step.
- Decision rules: Segnatura Learning’s written rules for changing a plan, the same for every student (available on request).
- Records: whether the guarantee is met is decided from the charts already shared in the weekly or Friday reports.
Part A. Schools (the School Program)
- Promise: if, at the end of week 4, fewer than half of the students in a group are showing growth on their main charted skill, we change that group’s plan and provide two additional weeks of sessions (8 sessions) for that group at no charge.
- Students counted: only students who attended at least 12 of the group’s first 16 scheduled sessions.
- Delivery: the 8 free sessions are scheduled right away or at the end of the term, at the school’s choice. We tell the school’s point person what changed.
- Limits: once per group per term. Sessions the school cancels do not count against us, and students who leave the group are not counted. It is the school’s only remedy for chart growth and does not cover state test scores or any other outcome.
Part B. Families
- Promise: if, at the end of week 4, the child’s main charted skill is not showing growth, we change the plan and add two weeks of sessions at no charge, at the same number of sessions a week as the family’s program.
- Counted when: the child attended at least 75% of the first four weeks’ scheduled sessions (9 of 12 in a 3-session program). Sessions we cancel count as attended.
- Limits: once per program; free sessions have no cash value and are not refunded; it is the family’s only remedy for chart growth and does not cover grades, test scores or any other outcome.
What the guarantee is not
- It is not a refund promise; refunds follow the Billing, Cancellation and Refund Policy.
- It does not promise any score on DIBELS 8, a school test or a state test.
- It does not apply to a free check.
